LG Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

LG counter-depth fridges are compact and provide plenty of space. These counter-depth refrigerators are also more affordable than standard-depth French-door refrigerators, and can remove the necessity for an under-counter freezer. The LG Smart Mirror InstaView Counter-Depth Refrigerator (LMWC23626S), which offers the capacity of a standard fridge in an elegant and contemporary design, isn't any different. It also comes with an internal dispenser that provides easy access to drinking water.

This model's exterior showcases a fingerprint-resistant stainless steel finish and a mirrored InstaView panel that adds to the modern look of the interior. The door bins have plenty of space and the top shelf can be folded to create a half depth shelf that can accommodate larger items. The bottom of the fridge is stocked with crisper drawers, while the deli drawer that is full width is ideal for meat and fresh produce.

The refrigerator uses door cooling systems that makes use of vents on the door of the fridge and freezer to let cold air into. It helps prevent hot spots and helps keep temperatures more consistent throughout the refrigerator.

This LG refrigerator was a standout in our tests and offers plenty of capacity to ensure that your family is well-fed However, it does have a few quirks that we found to be annoying. First  french door refrigerator freezer  do not stay at the temperature we'd like. The middle drawer reached 41 degrees during our maximum testing, which is warm enough to serve ice cream and other frozen foods. The temperature of the rest of the freezer remained about 36 degrees.

The refrigerator doors also have handles that are sunken and are difficult for shorter people to close. This may seem minor but we prefer front mounted handles on refrigerators, as they are simpler to open and close.

The refrigerator is pricey however it is worth it for anyone looking to have an elegant look for their kitchen. This refrigerator is recommended for those looking to upgrade their existing refrigerator or those who are building new homes and want a seamless look in the kitchen.

Samsung Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

The RF23M8090SG is Samsung's most recent and most elegant counter-depth French door refrigerator that retails at $4,200. It's a good-looking model that boasts useful features like an autofill water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It also performs well in our cooling tests, but we're not too fond of its gimmicky polygon handles and the bins with a crisper design feel a little flimsy.

One thing that sets the RF23M8090SG apart is its Bespoke line, which lets you customize your fridge using removable color panels that can be swapped whenever you get tired of the ones you have currently. There are 11 different colors including soft pastels, bolder hues and four metallic finishes. These panels can be customized to include photos or text. This gives the fridge a more personal touch and can match your Rick Owens dress, Andy Warhol banana neon or tie-dye Crocs.

The LED lighting can be switched to a different color, which is a nice feature. The interior of the fridge is finished in a way which reduces smudges, and makes cleaning much easier. The only real flaws of the RF23M8090SG are its crowded beverage center, and an inclination to open the door-indoor feature which houses a water dispenser and a pitcher. You need to feel for the lever on the underside midway down the door. Once you have it, the second door opens up within the fridge, containing the docking station for the pitcher and the water dispenser.

The 6.8 cubic-foot freezer compartment is big enough to store a wide range of frozen foods and comes with an amazing slide-out drawer system that lets you access whichever food you're looking for without opening the whole compartment. The freezer also features an ice-cream bin style compartment to store small items, and a huge capacity storage drawer that can store larger quantities of frozen food. This drawer is lockable with a password, so that unwanted guests are kept out. It also has a handy LED to help you see what's inside at an instant. The freezer can also keep track of the use of energy and help lower your power bill with the SmartThings Energy Mode.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

French door refrigerators provide a sleek design to any kitchen, and they fit well in a variety of room sizes. Counter-depth refrigerators are a great option if you're looking for this look, but without the added height. We've tried a variety of them, and this Frigidaire model has a higher than average score in our ratings for its reasonable price and thoughtful features such as an adjustable temperature drawer.

However, it also has a few minor issues. Our tests show that the FGHB2866PF is able to warm up quite a bit in the freezer, and could get uncomfortable warm on the refrigerator's outermost shelves. This is evident in our heat maps, which show how much the internal temperatures vary from minute to minute. The butter bin in the orange region on the right is especially warm during our test period. It might not appear too bad at first glance but it's a sign that the fridge spends a good portion of its time above 33 degrees.

It's worth noting that this model is not Energy Star certified, which could be a major consideration for some buyers. The real problem is that this refrigerator isn't very good. It's lacking advanced features and is made of a slender, flimsy material, making it difficult to recommend it over better options at this price point.

This Frigidaire fridge is similar to the stainless steel model you might see at your local appliance store. It's a safe choice with a brushed finish that looks good and is impervious to smudges, but it does not make a lot of an effort to differentiate itself from other brands with more features and cost less.

However, if you're looking for a low-cost counter-depth French door refrigerator and do not have the money to spend a lot on our top choices, then the FGHC2331PF is worth a look. It's got enough storage to meet the needs of the majority of families and does a great job keeping food fresh. And even if it isn't an energy-efficient model, it doesn't come close to costing as much as our highest-rated models do.
